Welcome to NZ

What a dangerous place to ride, so to all my mates that I have said NZ is great well it is but not on a bike. Not a cycle not a motorbike, and if you drive make it a decent size. NZ is a flat out dangerous place to be on the road.. The Police are so busy writing instant fines that after two weeks still no result of their investigation. They had enough time to question me and make unsustainable accusations before I was fully conscious but still no report. They were happy to take my vehicle registration slip and not tell me. And if you think that is my total beef it's not. I was admitted after an hour I became conscious. Confronted by two police making assertions I could not even understand. I got no food for 12 plus hours. I got pain relief and nothing else apart from constipation. I remained in bed in pain till discharged. Find your own way home ! I called ACC two days later and then had a visit from a Nurse who helped me wash and dry and left. That was a week or so ago....

Welcome home

Rode into Blenheim to register the Dakar and do a couple of jobs. Work done heading out of town and I was attacked by a woman in a green car. She unexpectedly drove directly in front of me to make a right turn. Could have saved the day if she kept going but no she slowed and instead of missing to the rear and clipped the car. Over I went. Broken ribs and clavicle and boy how it hurts. I had recently had to redo my driver's license to prove I could see. What a system here is a driver that cannot see a motorcycle 50 meters away and she gets a licence There are a number of inconsistencies in this.... First. We are not taught to identify what we see. Of course I understand even if I don't.. Second. We are not taught to think. We accept what is before is as evidence. Third. We see what we expect to see. I will attach a photo when I can find it !
